IMG_3664.JPG We drove from Italy to Germany through Austria.  These are the mountains in Austria called the Alps.

137_3800.JPG We stopped at a store on the highway in the middle of the Alps in Austria and took this picture in the parking lot.

138_3804.JPG We saw a lot of these funny looking birds on Lake Chiemsee.  A lot of them were running around and pecking at the ground.  Others were swimming and dunking their heads under the water looking for fish.

138_3805.JPG We took a boat to see a castle on an island.  This is a picture of the town we stayed in, Gstadt.  It was taken from the boat.

138_3812.JPG This is the palace of King Ludwig II.  We got a tour of it.  The whole front of the top floor is a single huge room that is about as long as a football field.

138_3851.JPG We couldn't take pictures inside so we took pictures of the postcards.  This is the room that covers the front of the building.  It is as big as a football field.  I would like to have it so I could play football inside.

138_3850.JPG This is King Ludwig II's bedroom.  The big blue ball at the foot of his bed usually had three candles in in that were lit at night.  The room would be lit by a nice pretty blue all night because it was his favorite color.
