> How do cells and organisms adapt and evolve structure for function? I aim to understand the functional importance of the structure and physical properties of the cell nucleus. Knowledge of the link between nuclear structure and function will ultimately provide insight into the physical mechanisms cells use to regulate gene expression, as well as how external forces are transmitted into genetic response.
> As a postdoctoral fellow in the Weitz lab at Harvard University, I am currently developing microfluidic tools to study both genotype and phenotype of populations of single cells. These techniques provide insight into how cells respond and adapt to environmental changes.
